Hi, I’m Sam. I’m a Mental Health Counselor with experience providing individual, group, couples, and family therapy across a wide range of settings—from substance use rehabilitation programs in New York to juvenile and child services in Mumbai. I’ve worked with clients of all ages, from children as young as six to adults navigating complex life transitions. My passion is helping people overcome challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, and identity or self-esteem concerns.

I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Mumbai University. My multicultural background and clinical experiences allow me to support clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic contexts with sensitivity, inclusivity, and respect.

A bit about my approach to therapy
I take an eclectic, client-centered approach—tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs. I often draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and psychodynamic techniques. I am trained in Level 1 Gottman Method couples therapy and frequently integrate Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) to help clients strengthen emotional regulation and relationships. For those interested in creative exploration, I also bring in art therapy techniques. Above all, I strive to create a collaborative, supportive space where clients feel safe to share openly, build resilience, and reconnect with their strengths.
